Once upon a time...

Born in a little summer sketchbook in 2022, Zemra was founded by Aishah Avdiu as a design-first atelier crafting elegant, evocative pieces. Zemra is rooted in the philosophy of creating magic through clothing, from hand-finished accents to luxurious materials like silk and Italian-crafted swimwear. Each collection is an exploration of feminine allure, designed to move with the body and echo timeless sophistication. With a design philosophy that enhances the innate beauty of its wearers, Zemra pieces are laced with romance and elegance, incapsulating feelings and memories into inheritable pieces that are anything but minimalist. 

‘Zemra’ means ‘heart’ in Albanian. It’s a nickname often used for someone you love very much, who has your whole heart. Zemra is your sweetheart, beloved, my love. 

Aishah's journey creating swimwear began without professional fashion experience, but simply a love for bikinis, more than any other piece of clothing. Her collection draws inspiration from bygone retro eras, traditional Albanian folk art, and an appreciation for fine trims and details with elements like hand-sewn crochet, lace trims, and embroidered beadwork. 

These pieces are special, but they wouldn’t be complete without you. Everything at Zemra Swim is designed, handcrafted, and embellished with the intention of enhancing the beauty of its wearer.
